'दिव्यांग' म्हणजे केवळ शारीरिक आव्हाने असणारी मुले नसून, ती दैवी क्षमता असलेली 'विशेष मुले' आहेत, असे मी मानते.
आमचा उद्देश केवळ पुस्तकी ज्ञान देणे नाही, तर या मुलांमध्ये आत्मविश्वास निर्माण करणे आणि त्यांना स्वावलंबी बनवणे हा आहे. माझी सर्व पालकांना विनंती आहे की आपल्या मुलांच्या सामर्थ्यावर विश्वास ठेवा. आमचे शिक्षक आणि संपूर्ण स्टाफ या मुलांच्या स्वप्नांना पंख देण्यासाठी कटिबद्ध आहे.

Established as a trust by Mrs. Sangeeta Rawade, Shalom Education Centre was born from a deep vision to spread education among the deprived and neglected sections of society in rural areas.
In August 2005, we took our first step with the "Sophiya Divyang Mulanchi Shala". Recognizing many children in and around Khopoli had no access to special education, we stepped in to fulfill their needs with professional care and love.
Our expert staff provides tailored training with one ultimate aim: making our students socially accepted and occupationally independent in their adult lives.
We are profoundly thankful to the Khopoli Municipal Council for their continuous support.

Teachers put their eforts to develop verious skills in children. These skils are motor skills, self help skills, communication skiils social skills, academic skills & vocattional skills. These skills facilitates the tesk o adaptation ofthe child to his environment
We promote various recreationall activities like indoor & outdoor games, picnics and yoga training to develop the student's social skills.
The assessment and management of Sophiya Divyang Mulanchi Shala is done by a team consisting of a physician, psychiatrist physiotherapist, speech therapist and special educationists. We arrange visits of these professionals at regular intervals.
In order to assist parents, regular parent counselling sessions are arranged to help them in understanding & accepting child's problem.
